The Manchester Lit. & Phil. has been in existence since 1781 and is one of the oldest learned societies in the country. It has been at the leading edge of knowledge in many fields, and in making that knowledge accessible to all. The inaugural Kilburn Lecture was given on 4th February 2002.
The Kilburn lectures are one of a series of named lectures organised by the Manchester Lit. & Phil.
