Computing Careers fair 3rd & 4th October 2017, Kilburn buildingPublished: Monday, 02 October 2017
Come and speak to employers
The annual careers fair returns to the lower first floor of the Kilburn building on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th October 2017, from 12 noon until 3pm with different exhibitors on each day (see brochure).
Exhibitors this year include Accenture, Amazon, American Express, Apadmi, ARM, Autodesk, Avecto, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg, Cantarus, Cisco, Cyberscience, D3T, Deloitte, DigitalBridge, Fujitsu, IBM, Intechnica, Jaguar Land Rover, N Brown Group, KPMG, Late Rooms, Morgan Stanley, NCC Group, Ocado Technology, Royal Bank of Scotland, Rentalcars.com, The Hut Group, ThoughtWorks and Top Cash Back.
Come and say hello and find out more about what these organisations have on offer for students of Computer Science before and after graduation.
This careers fair is always over-subscribed and we can't fit in all the employers who would like to come and speak to students of Computer Science at the University of Manchester. This year, we've picked a wide range of employers (big and small) from different sectors (technology, financial services, gaming, security, retail etc) and different locations (London, Manchester, Edinburgh and beyond) so that there is hopefully something for everyone. However, if there's an employer you really think should be at the fair in 2018, please let Duncan or Mabel know.
Prepare for the Fair
There are lots of employers on campus during autumn recruiting graduates, internship and placement students. If you're speaking to any of them it is a good idea to prepare for the fair by:
- Finding out as much as you can about the employers you are interested in beforehand
- Bringing a stack of printed CVs to give out on the day in case they ask for one
- Making a note of the names of any employer representatives you talk to. You can mention them in any subsequent covering letters, job applications or interviews.
