About this event

Oasis, Elbow, The Fall: Manchester is well known for its musical heritage, but where would their performance be without the science? Bring your singing voices and help us to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the computer that created the first recorded digital music and discover how electronic processing makes singers sounds in tune and why television ads are so loud!

This event is part of the Manchester Science Festival

Manchester Science Festival is a nine day programme of events through the city and Greater Manchester. Featuring some of the best scientists, from Manchester and beyond, who join us to discuss their work, the UK’s most cutting-edge research and what the future might hold. From Dalton, Joule and Rutherford, to the Nobel Prize winning discovery of graphene, Manchester is at the very heart of science in the UK and the Festival is your opportunity to question the experts.
