Virtual Worlds and 3D Internet are becoming increasingly viewed as not just a social tool, but the natural evolution of the web and an important medium for business of the future. This is your opportunity to join IBM in Second life for a presentation to Manchester students that will demonstrate how IBM is already using virtual world technology in fields ranging from collaboration & simulation to education & commerce, and how these innovative technologies may change the way we use the web forever.

This Second Life virtual event is open to all CS students and will be taking place on the Wednesday December 5th. at 2pm.

In order to register for this event you will need to have an active Second Life account, and you must enter your Avatar name in the registration form below.

Visit www.secondlife.com to download the software for Windows, Mac OS X or Linux, and create your account.

 

Note: attendance at this virtual event in Second Life will be limited to 30 students, on a first-registered, first-served basis. Avatar names will be passed to IBM when you register using the form below, and only those registsred avatars may particpate.

Participants should be prepared to run Second Life on their own machines, as it may not be possible to run SL on School machines, (to be confirmed).
