Black Rock Studio is part of Disney Interactive Studios an affiliate of the Walt Disney Company, Black Rock develops original racing games on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Disney Interactive Studios, the interactive entertainment affiliate of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS), is a global business unit that self-publishes and licenses a broad portfolio of video games for multiple platforms in all major markets worldwide. Video games from Disney Interactive Studios are inspired by the breadth of intellectual properties throughout The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries. In addition, the business unit creates original intellectual properties that have the potential to expand beyond the video game market into other business areas of The Walt Disney Company.

 

The presentation will include:

  • A real insight into the organisation of the studio
  • Info on build of the game [its not announced until January]
  • Demonstration of Tomcat - an impressive suite of proprietary tools and technology
  • An overview of what they look for in a graduate programmer and give details about what they would do in their first year with them.

Internships

This summer they are running a paid Intern Scheme for Programmers at the studio and they are looking for talented individuals to come and join them. The positions will commence at the start of August 2007 until the end of September 2007. They offer a competitive salary, as well as the opportunity to gain insight into your chosen field of study and work on one of new original racing games, in a live development environment.
