You’ll be able to meet with staff and students, see some demonstrations of the kind of technologies our students are exposed to, and find out more about our programmes, facilities and everything else that student life in Manchester has to offer.
Our next University undergraduate open days will take place on:
June 18th 2010
June 19th 2010
October 2nd 2010
- To register for our Open Days please visit our Open Day registration page.
- For further information about Open Day activities, visit our Open Day photo gallery and the University Open day page.
- If you cannot come to an open day you may like to come on a guided tour of the campus. These take place every Wednesday afternoon. These are central university tours, but if you visit manchester then please do let us know as we’ll be happy to show you around the School as well.
Undergraduate Visit Days
Applicants who are resident in the UK are invited to attend a school Visit Day. The Visit Day gives applicants an opportunity to look around the School, see demonstrations and examples of the work in which our students are involved. You also get time to talk with some of our current students. The Visit Day includes an interview with a member of the academic staff providing you an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the course and the school. It also helps us to assess your suitability for the subject.
The typical visit day schedule would be:
11:15 - 12:00 Optional accommodation visit and campus tour
12:00 - 12:45 Lunch
12:45 - 12:55 Professor's Welcome
12:55 - 13:40 Host's Presentation
13:40 - 14:00 Demonstration
14:00 - 15:00 Interviews and Tour 1
15:00 - 16:00 Interviews and Tour 2.
Parents
Parents are welcome to attend the visit day. We recognise that in many cases parents provide a significant financial contribution and all parents are keen to see what Manchester, the University and the School of Computer Science has to offer. Parents are encouraged to stay for the whole afternoon (except the interview) and are provided with lunch and their own special tour of the University (with a postgraduate tour guide) and a 20 minute Q & A session with a member of the admissions staff.
