Vision for the future
Computing is transforming our world - changing the way we work and play, and redefining fields of human endeavour as diverse as healthcare, engineering and government. Computer Science is fuelling this revolution and provides, increasingly, a powerful intellectual framework for other disciplines, underpinning our understanding of key phenomena across life and health science, the humanities, engineering and physical science. At the same time world-class computer science is driven by the challenges presented by new areas of application, providing the impetus to develop new abstractions, generic methods and technologies. We believe that there is thus a huge benefit in developing strong interdisciplinary collaboration and have committed ourselves to that approach.
