The School has strong links with Manchester Science Park Ltd who work to enhance the economic and technological wealth of Manchester by providing quality accommodation and value added services for science and technology based companies.

Now ranked among the top three science parks in the UK, and internationally recognised as a ground-breaking centre of innovation, msp supports nearly 100 companies across its 3 sites.

The business activities of tenant companies cover a wide range of sectors, including ICT (which is the largest), healthcare and biotechnology, engineering, instrumentation, technical services, multimedia technology and services; many have spun out of Manchester’s academic institutions.

Manchester Science Park was one of the first to be established in the UK over 20 years ago and The University of Manchester is one of its major share-holders. One of msp’s prime objectives is to harness the resources of the adjacent academic institutions in support of the establishment and growth of its tenant companies.

msp tenant companies are providers of industry applicable student projects, student placements, graduate recruitment, beta testing for new technologies and collaborative R&D.
