• the recruitment of students for year long and summer placements
• the provision of industrial related projects, guest lectures
• and the sponsorship of students and academic prizes.

 

Similar opportunities exist at postgraduate level including research, endowed, and case studentships. These enable companies to establish links with a particular research area within the school, have necessary research carried out in a timely and cost effective manner, and assess the capabilities of students with a view to future employment. Collaborations between industrialists and academic staff include consultancy work, staff secondment and jointly funded research and development projects.
