Title: The Context-based View on Non-standard Reasoning
Abstract: In this talk, we describe a simple framework for context-based reasoning in description logics (DLs), where contexts are subsets of an ontology. We show that context-based reasoning both, generalizes the well-known problem of axiom pinpointing, and can be used as a sub-task for several non-standard reasoning problems and semantics. Among these problems are: dealing with errors, preferences, and uncertainty, or iterative knowledge contraction. Using this insight, we present a new approach for handling contexts, and hence solving these non-standard reasoning problems.
