"When applying for a postgraduate programme, I was looking for a different career pathway from my undergraduate course, but still within the field of computer science. I found it through this very specific program at the University of Manchester, which combines together computer science, information technology, biology and medicine knowledge.
I found the academic staff at the university to be very helpful. The program director Georgina welcomed me and offered quick responses to my questions regarding my academic progress any other issues. She also helped me to quickly improve my academic writing skills. My MSc project supervisor, Tomos Williams, was also particularly supportive whilst I was working on my medical imaging processing project.
I think that Manchester is a nice city and very safe in most areas. I would recommend that students live away from campus so that they can get to know and enjoy the many local cultures. I very much enjoyed using the Aquatics Centre because I found that swimming helped me to relax!
Having graduated, I am now a postgraduate student majoring in Health Informatics at Northeastern University in the USA. The programme relates more to the clinical side of my MSc by using IT technology to resolve clinical problems. It's an exciting programme with many opportunities for a future career, and I think that my MSc formed a really strong academic foundation for both working and studying in the USA."
