In addition to the full modular MSc courses, we offer a range of stand-alone face-to face course units. All of these course units are available to study on an ad hoc basis for CPD credits, ideal for students with specific interests or for those that don't wish to commit to the full MSc.
Our advanced computing course units are taught in 6 week blocks, enabling students to fit study around work commitments. University attendance is required on one day a week over 5 weeks. In addition the time commitment for the assessed coursework is approximately 10 days throughout the 6 week period (attendance not required). Extensions to deadlines can be requested by modular/part-time students. Course units are typically delivered in one of 4 periods that span the academic year.
The periods for the academic year are as follows:
- Period 1 commencing: Last week of September for 6 weeks
- Period 2 commencing: Beginning of November for 6 weeks
- Period 3 commencing: Last week of January for 6 weeks
- Period 4 commencing: Middle of March for 6 weeks with Easter break in-between
Please see the linked course unit descriptions below for an indication of the period in which each course unit runs.
