You will be assessed using a mixture of examinations and coursework, which includes laboratories and written work.
Examinations account for about 60% of your assessment, and evaluate your skills in the selection and application of knowledge, problem solving, critical thinking and in design and evaluation of software or hardware.
Coursework is a mixture of laboratory-based practical work which usually involves programming, together with written work and presentations. In most of our labs you will receive immediate feedback on completed work by having your work marked face-to-face by academic staff and postgraduate researchers. Other coursework is marked offline and will also provide you with feedback to support your learning.
Your third year project is assessed using an early presentation of proposed work, a demonstration of your achievements, and a formal report written to professional standards.
