We are pleased to announce that the paper "Development and illustrative outputs of the Community Integrated Assessment System (CIAS), a multi-institutional modular integrated assessment approach for modelling climate change", EMS, Vol. 23, No. 5, 2008. ISSN: 1364-8152, on which Graham Riley and Rupert Ford were co-authors, has won the best paper award in the Decision Support category for 2008. The award was announced in EMS Vol 24, No. 11, 2009.

The aim of the awards is to recognise those authors whose paper epitomises the aims, scope and high standards of the journal. For papers published in 2008 the Editors decided to make a single award in each of three categories: Integrated Modelling; Generic Modelling and/or Software Methods; and Decision Support.
