Timetable Key

Structure

Entries in these timetables are of the form:

group | course-unit | week | room

where week and/or group and/or room can be blank.

Example

From this timetable entry "C+X COMP18112 [A w3+] G23" the following can be deduced.

Group C and X will attend the activity
The activity is part of a Computer Science course unit (i.e. it is COMP)
The unit code is 18112
The activity will take place in weeks 'A' starting in week 3
The activity will be held in G23 (Kilburn Building)

Course Codes

Course codes begin with four letters to signify the school offering the course e.g. COMP = Computer Science, MATH = Maths etc. Course codes contain 5 digits. To understand the meaning of the digits point to one of the links below.

Activity type

Activities are colour coded to differentiate different activity types. Look at the key on the timetable itself to determine what each colour means.

Weeks and periods

If no indication is given as to when an activity will run then it is for the duration of the semester.

If an activity only runs for a subset of a semester then the following notations are used to explain what the subset is.

PG units run in periods of five teaching weeks and one week of coursework. Note that where a period is indicated it does not include the sixth week, only the five teaching weeks.

Some examples

Groups

Some activities are prefixed by the group name. E.g. A+Z indicates that an activity will be attended by groups A and Z. F indicates that an activity will be attended by group F.
