Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Award of High School Diploma with at least five grade 12 courses numbered 30 or 31, including:

• 90% in grade 12 Mathematics or Calculus (including grade 12 AP Calculus AB)
• 90% in grade 12 science
• 90% in three further academic subjects

Acceptable English language qualifications include:

• 70% or grade B achieved in the High School Diploma, provided grades 10-12 have been studied in Canada

Senior High School Diploma

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate degree courses

Applicants who have completed the Senior High School Diploma are required to undertake a foundation year or year 1 of undergraduate studies in order to be considered for first year entry to Computer Science. We require 90% average from High School Grade 12 plus foundation or year 1 studies including a significant maths component and awarded by a recognised institution. Qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The Senior High School Diploma may be considered without foundation or undergraduate studies if it is taken alongside AP examinations. Entry requirements are as follows:

• High School Graduation Diploma with a GPA of 3.6 or 90%
• Grade 5 in AP Calculus BC or Calculus AB (subscore not accepted)
• Grade 5 in AP Physics or Computer Science
• Grades 5 and 4 in two further advanced placement tests

Qualification

Diplôme du Baccalauréat Général or Option International du Baccalauréat (OIB) / Baccalauréat Français International (BFI)

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Award of Baccalauréat Général with an average of 16/20 including: 

• A minimum of 17/20 in the final year of Specialty Mathematics, which must be studied in both Premiere and Terminale 
• A minimum of 17/20 in the final year of one of Specialty Engineering Sciences, Digital and Computer Sciences, or Physics and Chemistry, which must be studied in both Premiere and Terminale 

Option International du Baccalauréat (OIB) / Baccalauréat Français International (BFI) with an average of 15/20 including: 

• A minimum of 16/20 in the final year of Specialty Mathematics, which must be studied in both Premiere and Terminale 
• A minimum of 16/20 in the final year of one of Specialty Engineering Sciences, Digital and Computer Sciences, or Physics and Chemistry, which must be studied in both Premiere and Terminale 

Acceptable English language qualifications include: 

• 15/20 in the Baccalauréat Général (English must be taken as one of the two Foreign Languages and not as an additional option) 
• 12/20 in OIB or BFI English (including English Literature)

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Award of National Apolytirion with an average of 19/20 including: 

• Pure Sciences or Technology Stream taken in Year 3/Level C
• 19 in Year 3/Level C Mathematics as an orientation subject
• 19 in Year 3/Level C Physics or Computer Science as an orientation subject

Along with the following external qualifications:

• Grade A* in A-level Mathematics OR 19/20 in the Panhellenic examination in Mathematics

And

• Grade A in A-level science OR 19/20 in a Panhellenic examination in a science subject

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE)

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education with 5*5*55 including:

• 5* in Core Mathematics
• 5*5 in any order including one of either M1 (Calculus and Statistics) or M2 (Algebra and Calculus), and a science subject from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Integrated Science, or Combined Science
• 5 in a fourth subject, excluding Liberal Studies or Citizenship and Social Development

Acceptable English language qualifications include:

• HKDSE Core English at level 5

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Grade XII examinations awarded by CBSE or ISC National Boards with:

• An average of 90%, including 90% in Mathematics (not Applied Maths) and 85% in Physics or Computer Science (not Informatics Practices)

Grade XII examinations awarded by West Bengal State Board with:

• An average of 85%, inc. 85% in Mathematics (not Applied Maths) and 80% in Physics or Computer Science

Grade XII examinations awarded by Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu State Boards with:

• an average of 95%, 95% in Mathematics (not Applied Maths) and 90% in Physics or Computer Science

Acceptable English language qualifications include:

• 85% in India Standard XII (Standard 12) English (NOT 'Functional English') if it is from either National Boards (CBSE or ISC)
• 90% from one of the following State Boards: Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu
• 85% from West Bengal State Board

Irish Leaving Certificate with six academic subjects at grades H1, H1, H1, H1, H2, H2, including H1 in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and a science subject.

Acceptable English language qualifications include:

• Irish Leaving Certificate Ordinary Level English language grade 3
• Irish Leaving Certificate Higher Level English language grade 4 (taught in English)

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Award of Diploma di Esame di Stato with an average of 95% including:

• 10 in Mathematics final year School exam
• 10 in Physics or Chemistry final year School exam

Qualification must be studied at a Liceo Scientifico (scientific secondary school).

Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (Malaysia Higher School Certificate) or Matrikulasi (Matriculation Certificate)

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Award of the Lise Diplomasi (MEB) from a private high school on The University of Manchester’s approved list, with an overall average of 90%, including 87% in each of Grade 12 Mathematics and Physics. 

Applicants applying with this qualification awarded by a school not on the list approved by The University of Manchester will not be considered for direct entry to the first year of our courses and are required to study the Integrated Foundation Year, unless the following requirements can be met.

Or

90% overall average from the Lise Diplomasi (MEB) alongside: 

• Grade 5 in AP Calculus BC or Calculus AB 
• Grade 5 in AP Physics or Computer Science 
• Grades 5 and 4 in two further advanced placement tests 

Entrance requirements for all undergraduate courses

Award of the US High School Graduation Diploma with: 

• Overall GPA of 3.3 
• Grade 5 in AP Calculus BC or Calculus AB (subscore not accepted) 
• Grade 5 in AP Physics or Computer Science 
• Grades 5 and 4 in two further advanced placement tests

Award of the US High School Graduation Diploma with: 

• Overall GPA of 3.3

• Grade 5 in AP Physics or Computer Science (achieved in grade 11) 
• Grade A in Advanced Placement classes in two further academic subjects from the fall semester of Year 12.

Acceptable English language qualifications include: 

• Grade B achieved in the High School Graduation Diploma provided years 10-12 have been studied in the USA
• Grade 4 in AP English Language and Composition
